History :
The term or the origin of this
road, the "Mont Saint-Michel" defies the
description by its celebrity. Since the formation
of its first college of canons, in 709, by Aubert,
bishop of Avranches, and its Benedictine abbey, in
966, by Richard 1st, Duke of Normandy, the rock passed
by the primitive forest with the danger of the sea
was at the same time impregnable fortress, headlight
of the occident, sentinel in extreme cases of the
province. He remains the most famous site of Normandy
and fact part of the world inheritance.
