Such the pyramids, of the ancient temples or the old pagodas of the world extremity, the Tower titillates the imagination, cause the dreams and stir the curiosity
The tower receives:
1889: Their Royal Highness Wales’s prince and princess are the first crowned heads makes the monument ascension. They are followed by a lot of other: Oscar II of Sweden, Georges 1st of Greece, Leopold II of Belgium, the royal family of Japan, the Tzarevitch, the shah of Persia, the Portugal king and the Egyptian princes... The year of its opening, the Tower Eiffel is a worldly attraction. Thomas Edison offers his phonograph to Eiffel. Sarah Bernhardt makes a strong noticed passage.
1900: The Austria archduke Charles Ferdinand is delighted for the elevators speed service and the marvellous terrace of the 2nd floor...
1921: The Japan future emperor goes for a walk on the Eiffel Tower at the time of his first visit to Europe. He is 20 years old.
1939: An official reception dinner for the monument’s fiftieth birthday unites the Windsor duke, the Spain and Poland ambassadors.
